If a masked person shows up at your house, attempting to enter without announcing they are law enforcement, you can absolutely legally act in self defense. Any law enforcement agent will tell you that knock and announce is as much for their protection as anything else. ICE seems to ignore this reality.

Ya, someone could reasonably fear for their life in that situation. Even worse, if they identified themselves as a ICE agent I'd definitely fear for my life.
She is objectively correct based on how the law is worded and the actions of ICE.
How do you tell a real ICE agent rather than someone who is just dressed up as one?
You can't.
Exactly what the "Don't Tread on Me" and 2nd Amendment Gun Nuts have been crying about for the last 50 years. Suddenly, they are either silent or telling everyone to comply. Hypocrites.

ICE refuses to identify themselves and wears gear that can be found on Amazon. What's to stop a home invader from posing as ICE?
Trick question - ICE is a state-sponsored gang of home invaders.

What’s the point of bearing arms if not to defend yourself against an immoral and corrupt government. Exactly why it’s in the constitution.

The exact same people who wouldn’t wear a mask to save your life, will wear one to take it.
I mean, it's correct. If they don't have a warrant, they don't identify themselves, if they don't have badges, aren't wearing uniforms, and then they start brandishing weapons and threatening people, or going to houses to take people, then you are well within your rights to protect yourself. Now, you will have to argue that in court, but given the situation that is happening I doubt a jury would find you guilty as there would be reasonable doubt. And given the situation that is happening in the US you would probably have money donated to pay for your legal resources.
That's why ICE needs to change everything about how they are doing this because it will just lead to unnecessary suffering. However, the system it has created is giving the desired outcome. The cruelty and death is the point. If it wasn't, then the system would be changed literally within days.
When I saw the ICE guys with a battering ram just taking someone's door down I wondered if the person in side could just shoot them as they enter the house? It seems the law is on the side of the homeowner. These ICE people don't have any warrants and don't announce that they do.

This is why easily identifiable law enforcement is really important. We’ve literally had criminals pretending to be ICE so that they can rob and rape people. Turns out it’s real easy to throw on some camo and a mask.
Of course, another issue is that I actually haven’t seen any of these ICE agents identify themselves as such. At best, they wear a vague “ICE” Velcro patch — but again those are so easy to purchase online.
And then you e got these ICE agents who simply are not trained. They don’t act like law enforcement. They certainly don’t speak professionally like law enforcement.
In these situations you can use lethal force against these unknown individuals. You are allowed to legally defend yourself from unknown attackers. This is nothing new.
This is why ICE needs to be wearing clearly indicated uniforms in clearly marked law enforcement vehicles. It’s why they need to actually go thru training and clearly identify themselves.

You know what would end this ICE situation really quickly: People dressing up as ICE agents and terrorizing white neighborhoods.
What’s the difference honestly. Both are masked and don’t identify themselves.
The way this headline reads is incendiary. She didn't suggest that we Arizonans could shoot ICE. She said that our stand your ground laws combined with the fact that ICE doesn't properly identify themselves could lead to disaster and that ICE needs to be careful and should wear badges and ID. Which is absolutely true. But now there are bad-faith calls for Mayes to resign because of these kinds of headlines making people think that she is being "reckless".
I mean everything ICE wears you can literally buy on Amazon, or any online retailer.
Vehicles are easily modified to put lights on. so basically anyone can be these cosplaying weirdos

If this holds up tomorrow, Trump will send his miserable ICE to Arizona to test their resolution. It's getting interesting that normal citizens of the US are afraid of the US criminal justice system gang sponsored by the US government, which is in power, because the citizens are paying for them to be there in the first place.
When masked men, often without valid warrants, are breaking into your home, often mistakingly as we've seen time and time again, I think Castle Doctrine indeed applies.
The difference is that even if you're right academically, you're practically likely to get killed for exercising that right. Which is why the government shouldn't be putting people in that position in the first place and should instead be acting cautiously and appropriately itself.

Arizona AG Cites Law In Interview. That's the headline.
She doesn't encourage violence here, she doesn't endorse it. Her whole point is that this is a recipe for tragedy because that is the law and you're defending yourself against someone who isn't identified as a peace officer.

They'll be six of them at your door. You may get a shot or two off. However, it's a death sentence. If you're family is home...it's a death sentence for them, too. They will empty every round into your house. There has to be a better way. Maybe there could be a system where the cops could get permission from a judge to enter your residence once the cops provide enough information about the place and the crime?
So we’re at the stage where we might be having gun fights in the streets like 1930s Germany. I hate this timeline.
